EPC

What is an Epc?

Short for Energy Performance Certificate of course. EPCs were created with the intention of raising awareness of the energy needs of buildings. They are legal documents.

A valid EPC is a requirement to market a property for sale or rent. There are also Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) that apply based on the property. If you are a landlord, expect that it will only be a matter of time before the government raises the current minimum from an ‘E’ to a ‘C’ or higher.

Why this matters

Global co2 levels are rising, and we need to improve the energy efficiency of our homes if we are to meet co2 targets.

Improving awareness of the energy efficiency of our homes is perhaps the first step towards actually taking action to improve energy efficiency.

Why get an EPC

An EPC is a legal document. Have one done if you need one for the usual reasons. We produce both EPCs and floorplans.

If you are considering retrofitting your home, go for a retrofit assessment instead.
